Guy Burlage and I met a beautiful young woman named Jessica while we were playing at Sugarbush Mt. last night. She said she was feeling a little sad because her father had passed away 15 years ago on this day. She asked if we knew any Eric Clapton songs because Clapton was her dad's favorite musician. So we played "Wonderful Tonight." Before we started Jessica had called her mom and as we played she held her cell phone up near the stage so her mom cold listen too. After we finished you could tell by the tears in her eyes that Jessica was very moved and she told us her mother was very moved too.
Yes, cover songs do matter. So thank you very much Jessica for becoming a new friend of ours, and for liking our music, and for making your special request. We appreciate your giving us to the opportunity to be a part of honoring your father's memory!
